Informatics Study Program

Vision

The vision of UPY Informatics Study Program is:

Informatics Study Program in 2043 becomes a professional study program in producing graduates who have competence in informatics and have a technopreneur spirit.

The explanation of some terms that appear in the vision of the study program is as follows:

Informatics is understood as a science that studies problem solving by utilizing computational techniques and information technology.
Professional is an organized activity to gather, direct, and control all components including human resources, devices, and existing systems so that they can move to achieve maximum results.
Informatics is a field of science that studies how to use computer technology optimally to handle data transformation or processing problems with logical processes.
Technopreneur is a combination of two words, namely technology and entrepreneurship. In short, technopreneur is an entrepreneur in the field of technology, where the skills needed are not only entrepreneurial, but also knowledge of the latest technology.

Mission

The mission of the Informatics Study Program is a description of the implementation of education and teaching activities, research, and community service carried out in an effort to realize the vision of the Informatics Study Program which is derived from the vision of PGRI Yogyakarta University.

The mission of UPY Informatics Study Program is

1. Organizing a learning process that produces computer graduates who have high global insight, are professional, have a technopreneur spirit and are able to compete in the job market.
2. Carrying out research in the field of Informatics to develop Science and Technology in the field of Informatics in accordance with the development of Science and Technology.
3. Carry out community service in the field of Informatics to produce a product or discourse that is beneficial to society.
4. To collaborate with various parties to develop Science in Informatics.
5. To increase the professionalism of the academic community in the development of science and technology.

Objectives

The main objectives of the UPY Informatics Study Program are

1. Producing Strata-1 graduates who are professional and have competence in the field of Informatics and have a technopreneur spirit.
2. Producing research works in the field of Informatics for the development of science and its application.
3. Producing works of service and community service in the field of Informatics in an effort to improve the welfare of the community.
4. Producing cooperation with various parties in the development of Science in Informatics.
5. Producing professional and qualified academic community in the field of Informatics.
