SEMNAS UPY – Invoiring the innovation of the Learning Era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0

Student Association of UPY Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, on Monday, March 25, 2019 held a National Seminar & Amp; call for papers with the theme & ldquo; initiating learning innovation as an effort to revitalize Indonesian education towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The event was held at the Yogyakarta PGRI University Auditorium with the speaker, Mr. Indra Charismiadji, Ph.D (Educational Observer and Practitioner, CEO of Eduspec Indonesia, E-SABAK initiator, the winner of the 2018 Indonesian Education Award). And Dr. Sri Suning Kusumawardani (Center for Innovation and Academic Study of Gadjah Mada University). The event was attended by 360 participants.

In the era of the current technological era in the learning process has a significant difference compared to previous teaching. Where teaching today utilizes information technology, requires teachers to be creative in delivering learning materials. Technology requires everyone to be able to immediately adjust themselves, including in terms of teaching to prepare children to enter a completely new world of work. Therefore, teachers must be prepared to teach how children become creative and critical. Thus the child will become a person who is ready to face the changing times.

With the National Seminar event, it was able to provide insights on education in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 to participants who included S1 students, S2 students, S3 students, lecturers, teachers, and practitioners. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is marked by a cyber-physical system. At present the industry is starting to touch the virtual world, in the form of human connectivity, machines and dates are everywhere. Of course to face the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the world of education also played a role. In shouting the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, it is necessary to revitalize the world of education. There is a need for learning innovations that include curriculum, learning models, and learning methods that are relevant to the current industrial revolution 4.0. (Source: warta.upy.ac.id)
